We were very happy to have Bjorn, LB1GB, joining us for the CQ WPX CW contest this year.  Unfortunately we were strongly hit by the CME induced Aurora.  Conditions were terrible.

LB1GB operated LN9Z in an effort on SOSB 14 MHz, and he worked 1121 QSOs and 567 mults to achieve 902,097 pts.

Jan, LB1G, operated LA9Z in an effort on SOSB 7 MHz, and he worked 1352 QSOs and 565 mults to achieve 1,870,715 pts.  Neither of the efforts will yield new LA records, - as we were aiming for.

To those of you we could reach through the Aurora (Iron) Curtain: Thank you very much for calling us.

At first sight it looked like we had more QSOs with South America than with North America, but this was merely the impression because of very poor NA runs.  Log statistics showed more NA than SA.

And finally it was our turn to host Mr. Murphy, although most problems were fixed on Friday before the contest.

The only serious problem was the motorized winch on the crank up tower.  It stopped when the tower was half way up, and it could not be moved.  And it's less than a year old...
