My dear brother and co-founder of LA9Z Leia Contest Club, Jan Almedal, has taken back his original callsign LB1G, which he got as a novice ham with CW rights only at the age of 17 back in 1976.

Many of you will know him, and have logged him, as LA9HW.  Recently he has not been so active with his own call, since he has mainly operated LA9Z and LN9Z (in the major contests). 

Jan has worked tens of thousands QSOs since the establishment of LA9Z/LN9Z in 2006, more CW than SSB, and more low bands than high bands.  Jan is aslo doing a tremendeous job replying to QSL cards to LA9Z and LN9Z.
