Welcome to Leia Contest Club |
As an offspring of LA Contest Club (LACC), Leia Contest Club was established in 2005 by Roy LA5KO and Jan LB1G. A club call (LA9Z) was obtained, and a QTH was aquired early 2006.
The club was first aired in ARRL DX Contest CW 2006, with 100W and a temporary W3DZZ antenna. Since then, most major contests have be operated with LA9Z or LN9Z. The long term plan, as workload and money permit, is a major contest station with multi-multi capabilities and ability to compete in WW top 5 - when our northern propagations (Aurora) allow us. We are committed to obey to contest rules and we support FAIR PLAY CONTESTING. |

LN9Z worked 4305 QSOs and achieved a claimed score of 4,311,621 pts in the MOST category with only LB1G/Jan and LA5KO/Roy as operators. Take a look at the Scores 2010 to se the details. It was planned to have three operators, but due to illness we ended up with only two. That showed to be pretty tough, - both of us merely had a 2 hour nap on the second night, giving us 46 hours of operation each and four hours without a Mult station (01-05z). |

New antennas and QSL work |
|

On Monday 18th October we received our new antennas, an Optibeam OB5-15 5 element OWA Yagi for 15m and an Optibeam OB5-10 5 element OWA Yagi for 10m. Towers are not ready yet, but we will see if we can put one or both antennas up in a preliminary setup for the CQ WW DX SSB. While waiting for the antenna delivery at the station site, Jan LB1G, carried out a significant job to finish replying QSL cards, including those sent via buro. |
