As an offspring of LA Contest Club (LACC), Leia Contest Club was established in 2005 by Roy LA5KO and Jan LB1G.  A club call (LA9Z) was obtained, and a QTH was aquired early 2006. 

The club was first aired in ARRL DX Contest CW 2006, with 100W and a temporary W3DZZ antenna.  Since then, most major contests have be operated with LA9Z or LN9Z.

The long term plan, as workload and money permit, is a major contest station with multi-multi capabilities and ability to compete in WW top 5 - when our northern propagations (Aurora) allow us.
