Map of Norway with LA9Z and LA8W marked.As an offspring of LA Contest Club (LACC), Leia Contest Club was established in 2005 by Roy LA5KO and Jan LB1G.  A club call LA9Z / LN9Z was obtained, and a QTH was aquired early 2006. 

The station has been active in most major HF contests from the ARRL DX CW 2006 until the CQ WPX SSB 2013.  After CQ WPX SSB 2013 the station was dismantled and LA9Z left the Lista QTH.

In this 7 year period (up to end of 2012) we have had 84 LA category wins, set 38 LA records, been 23 times on WW top 10 list and in addition to 6 SAC category wins, we had one major WW category win, - SOSB(A)160m HP in CQ WW DX SSB 2012.

We are committed to obey to contest rules and we support FAIR PLAY CONTESTING.

We are happy to see that James Bowman, KS1J, won the plaques sponsored by LA9Z/LN9Z Leia Contest Club for the Single-op All-bands Assisted Low-power USA category in both SSB and CW parts of the 2012 CQ WW DX Contest.

Roy, LA5KO, used LN9Z to work SOSB Assisted HP on 40m. Roy worked 1134 QSOs and 582 prefixes to achieve a claimed score of 1,555,104 points.

ARRL DX SSB 2013

Roy, LA5KO, used LN9Z to work SOSB HP on 40m. Roy worked 222 QSOs in 33 states and provinces to achieve a claimed score of 21,978 pts. Conditions were severely degraded by corona hole effects the entire weekend.
